Take The Vault Slots

Take The Vault Slots

Take the Vault: Hold & Win is a 5-reel, 75-payline slot from Betsoft. It serves as a sequel to another Betsoft game called Take the Bank. With exciting features and a Wild West theme, Take the Vault slots seems interesting on the surface. It's especially intriguing due to a wild detonator that goes off every 10 rounds. You can find out more on the detonator feature and other important aspects in this Take the Vault slots review.

Gameplay

This game has 5 reels and 75 paylines going across a 5x4 grid. You need at least 3 matching symbols in a payline, beginning with the first reel, to score a winning combination. The only exception is the diamond, which pays for 2 matching symbols in a line. As we'll cover later, Take the Vault: Hold & Win is a progression game that has a counter starting at 10. This counter ticks down by one following each spin, until hitting 0, at which point TNT will blow up and deliver more wilds.

Graphics

Take the Vault presents a cartoonish version of the Wild West. It shows the bandit and a bank on the left-hand side and a saloon on the right. You'll also see bullets fly across the screen from time to time. A typical western movie beat plays throughout the game to further set the scene.

Symbols & Max Win

Normal symbols include royals (A-9), money, a liquor bottle, gold bars, a safe, pistol, and diamond. The latter delivers the most out of this group at 2.5x the stake for five matches. We do not see a Take the Vault max win listed at the time of this review. Most Betsoft online slots have between a 3,000x and 5,000x max win, so we're guessing the top payout lies in between here.

Features

Take the Vault Hold & Win has plenty of features that boost payouts, and you can see what's available below:

  • Progressive Rounds - Every spin moves the Detonator Countdown by one, starting at 10 and going to 0. Bandit symbols will convert to TNT along the way and remain like that until after 10 spins, at which point the TNT positions blow up and convert into wilds.
  • Hold & Win - You trigger the Hold & Win feature by landing 6+ bonus symbols (golden vault). This bonus starts with 3 respins, and all triggering bonus icons become sticky. Every new bonus symbol that lands will also be sticky plus reset the spin counter to 3. You get special prizes for Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand symbols, with the latter paying 1,000x the bet for each instance. Hold & Win continues until you either run out of spins or the board fills up with 20 symbols.
  • Free Spins - This bonus triggers when longhorn scatters land on reels 2, 3, and 4. You receive 15 free spins and 5, 7, or 10 randomly chosen starting wild symbols. These wilds will travel to new locations (a.k.a. moving wilds) after every free game.
  • Bonus Buy - The cost to buy 15 free spins is 100x the stake. You can use this option by selecting the shopping cart within the betting panel.

Betting Options

The wagering range starts at $0.20 and goes up to $300 per spin. An autoplay option is available for 5-100 spins if you want to keep the reels going automatically with your selected betting preferences.

Verdict on Take the Vault Slots

We give Take the Vault: Hold & Win a 9 out of 10 rating. This slot shines due to its multiple features, fun western theme, and unique detonator mechanic. While the detonator aspect does show up in Take the Bank, it's done slightly differently here. The only real downside to Take the Vault slots is the missing max win information. Perhaps Betsoft will provide this piece of info later. Regardless, we still find Take the Vault to be a highly playable and entertaining game.
